We will have to look at all the different software and hardware to help us produce our film trailer.

Test Shots
Final Pitch.
From all the research we have conducted, we have decided on
what our final idea will look like. The film will be linear, this is because we
want a straight forward story from start to finish with all the shots being in
the right order, this is so the audience can understand the story much better.
Although the trailer will be non-linear as we will only be showing the best
sections of the final film in a short amount of time. This is so we don’t ruin
the story and it will make the audience want to see the film more because they
will want to know what the story is about. Also because our trailer will be
based on a horror film, we will probably show the goriest and scariest part of
the film. Our trailer might be linear a tiny bit as the montage shots will be took
from the start, middle and end of the film. We will do this so the audience can
see as much of the film as possible without actually showing them the fill
film.
We will conduct numerous of quick close up shots as we want
the audience to see the detail on the characters. We will set our film at night
as it is stereotypical of horror movies to be set at night. We will also set
our film in a house at night, again this is stereotypical of horror movies. We
are thinking of having the antagonist as the main character and the story is
heard from his point of view, which we will betray in the trailer through shot
montages and the main antagonist speaking throughout it saying what he will do
to people. Although we haven’t thought of a solid plot yet, we have decided on how
the antagonist is going to behave and roughly how the antagonist is going to
look like.
Our main character will be dressed in a costume that will
consist of rough looking clothes and a mask which we will hopefully
find/make/buy for him. We will have some shots that will be in the wood as this
is stereotypical of a horror film. Our rough plot is that the main character
will break into the secondary characters house and conduct some sort of
kidnapping. This trailer will be more of a thriller than a horror which means
it will be more messed up for the audience than scary.
Shooting Schedule
Costume:
For our protagonist, we are thinking of using this mask. We think this because the mask looks creepy to people as they don't know who it is behind the mask. We can get a hold of this from Ebay for a cheap price.
Actors
We chose Freddie Hancock to act our media film trailer as we wanted
someone we can trust in playing our role well and the way we wanted it,
therefore Freddie is goof for this as we have worked well with him in
past projects like AS media final production and also in the making of
the music video we made in our preliminary task. As well as this he was
perfect for the role of the antagonist not only from his past
experiences with us but also due to him being a teenager and also
representing a teenager, therefore giving an honest role.
We
chose Daniel Dutton as actor as he was the only one that could get to
grasp at what we wanted from the protagonist, in wanting the protagonist
to play a role that isn't similar to any other production. In that the
protagonist isn't the main focus of the film. As well as this Daniel's
long hair means that we can keep the protagonists identity a mystery for
most of the trailer and therefore keeping the main focus on the
antagonist. Also due to availability and ease of access means that it
will be easier to have Daniel who his my partner in this project to act
rather than needing two people in being charger of filming.
Prop Update
We have decided to make our own mask as this will make it more specific
to our film and what we want the mask to be and represent rather than
representing a current film or actual organisation group like the mask
above represent the group "Anonymous".
Costume
Antagonist- Freddie
Mask:
Mask:
The mask we have made is an adaptation of the mask used in the film 'Friday The 13th' as the masks
has holes in it to resemble a ski mask type mask. This is good as it
represents a classic horror, however it can be seen as completely
different as if we have used it as inspiration for our mask.Outfit:
The
jacket we want is a standard dark blue jacket that doesn't stand out as
we want the main focus to be on the mask rather than the clothing. As
we want it to represent kind of two different people as if the
antagonist is different with the mask on. We would also like the
antagonist to wear standard bottom like grey track suit bottoms or a pair of jeans to represent this as a mainstream human being who doesn't deviate from society norm in the way he dresses and this connects him as it could be anyone who go round killing people and he doesn't stand out, which adds to the suspense and scary aspect of the trailer.
Ancillary Tasks, Poster + Magazine cover.

Weather
The weather on the date of shooting is schedule to be around 6-8 degrees
outside with no rain. therefore as it is fairly cold we will make sure
that our actors in Daniel and Freddie are wearing jackets as part of
there costumes. As well as this sunrise is at 8:15 and sunrise at 16:03,
therefore we plan to get all of our shooting done between this time as
otherwise there won't be sufficient lighting in our shots. To manage
this we will get all outside shots done first as we could potentially
use artificial lighting inside.
Fonts
1.
This is a sans-serif font. We will make this font black to fit in with the horror genre. I like this font because it has sharp ends to the letters which give the font a creepy look. If we were to use this font I will change the size and also make it say the title of our film.
2.
This is a sans-serif font. We will make this font black with a small white border around it. We will do this so we can see the font on the dark background we will produce. I like this font because it is from a TV show which has similar genre qualities to it.
3.
This is also a sans-serif font. If I were to use this font for the title I will keep it black as it fits into the horror genre which our film trailer is based upon. I like the splatter effects on this font because you can see it as blood. I might make the splatter marks red so it can betray blood so much better, although when it is black, it keeps the font simple and we can fit it into our magazine cover.
4.
This is a sans-serif font. I have made this font myself by using Photoshop. I have made it so it has a little shadow below it to give the poster depth. It is a white font on a white back ground. I did this so you will be able to see the white font on the black shadow behind it that it is creating. I have also added a small subheading underneath the font to show that it could work well on a magazine.
5.
This is also a san-serif font. I like this font because it has some pictures on it. The trees can represent how creepy the film could be. This is because trees an be typically found in horror films as they are stereotypical to them.
